Osaka, Japan, 4 December, 2023 — Universal Studios Japan will host its popular annual event, "Universal Cool Japan 2024," featuring a lineup of internationally acclaimed entertainment brands from Japan. The event runs from Friday, 1 March to Sunday, 30 June 2024, with My Hero Academia extending until Wednesday, 14 August 2024.
Next spring's event will mark the first-ever collaboration between the park and My Hero Academia, which is explosively popular around the world. Returning to the event is the beloved Detective Conan, a brand cherished by passionate fans. In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Monster Hunter series, a special collaborative restaurant, Monster Hunter: Seliana Dining Room, will make its debut. The Monster Hunter World: Iceborne XR Walk, which previously accumulated a 98% satisfaction rate, is also set to make a comeback. My Hero Academia is a TV anime adapted from the widely popular manga by Kohei Horikoshi serialised in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha). Celebrating its 10th year since its debut, the manga has sold over 85 million copies worldwide and has been successfully transformed into a hit animated series. In an unprecedented collaboration with the park, Universal Studios Japan leverages extraordinary quality and scale to bring to life the epic battles between the distinctive heroes and villains of the series with realism, providing a super experience like no other.
Detective Conan World continues to captivate guests, challenging their deductive prowess each year as they immerse themselves in the series' universe, solving complex riddles using intellect and footwork. This year’s event will tie in with the latest feature film, Detective Conan: The Million-dollar Pentagram, slated to be released next spring.
